According to official data, digital evidence has been uploaded and assigned a Unique Evidence Identification Number in nearly 93% of FIRs registered over the past six months.
4,776 FIRs Linked With Digital Evidence
Between January 1, 2025 and June 15, 2026, Varanasi Police registered 5,129 FIRs.
Out of these, digital evidence was uploaded in 4,776 cases, with a Unique SID generated for each case.
The remaining cases are still undergoing the prescribed uploading process.
Gomti Zone Records Best Performance
Among police zones, Gomti Zone performed the best.
Out of 969 FIRs, Unique SIDs were generated in 940 cases, achieving nearly 97% compliance.
Other zones also recorded strong implementation:
- Varuna Zone: 1,980 out of 2,152 FIRs, around 92%
- Kashi Zone: 1,856 out of 2,008 FIRs, around 92%
Luxa and Women’s Police Station Achieve 100%
According to available data, Luxa Police Station and the Women’s Police Station achieved 100% compliance.
Both stations generated Unique SIDs for digital evidence in every registered case.
