The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has received expressions of interest from 13 agencies for the development of proposed metro stations on the Sector 142–Botanical Garden corridor and the Greater Noida Depot–Bodaki extension.
The initiative is part of NMRC's plan to involve private participation in station development by allowing selected companies to associate their names with metro stations while developing commercial spaces to generate additional revenue.
Officials said the current exercise is at the Expression of Interest (EOI) stage, and discussions will be held with participating agencies before the project model is finalised.
Private Sector Participation Planned
According to NMRC, the proposed model is being introduced for the first time.
Under the proposal, selected organisations may be allowed to:
- Associate their brand names with metro stations
- Develop commercial spaces around stations
- Generate revenue through approved commercial activities
- Participate in long-term station development
Officials added that fresh applications may be invited for stations that do not receive suitable proposals during the present process.
Commercial Development Around Stations
The model is expected to attract interest from:
- Multinational companies
- Information technology firms
- Educational institutions
- Commercial developers
- Corporate organisations located along the proposed metro corridors
Besides improving passenger facilities, the initiative is intended to create additional non-fare revenue for the metro network through commercial utilisation of station areas.
Sector 142–Botanical Garden Corridor
The proposed 11.56-kilometre corridor will connect the Aqua Line's Sector 142 station with Botanical Garden Metro Station, providing an interchange with the Blue and Magenta Lines of the Delhi Metro.
The proposed stations on the route include:
- Botanical Garden
- Sector 44
- Noida Office
- Sector 94
- Sector 97
- Sector 105
- Sector 108
- Sector 93
- Panchsheel Boys Inter College
The corridor is expected to improve connectivity between residential, commercial and business districts along the Greater Noida Expressway.
Aqua Line Extension to Bodaki
NMRC has also proposed extending the Aqua Line by approximately 2.6 kilometres from the Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki.
Two new stations are planned:
- Junpat Village
- Bodaki
According to officials, Bodaki is expected to develop into a future multimodal transport hub, improving integration with other transport infrastructure planned in the region.
Ghaziabad–Jewar Namo Bharat Corridor Advances
Separately, the proposed 72.44-kilometre Ghaziabad–Jewar Namo Bharat (RRTS) corridor has reached the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage.
The proposed corridor will connect:
- Ghaziabad
- Noida
- Greater Noida
- YEIDA region
- Noida International Airport at Jewar
The project is expected to include 12 stations, two depots and an estimated investment of ₹20,640 crore.
With a proposed maximum operating speed of 180 kmph, the corridor is expected to reduce travel time between Ghaziabad and Jewar Airport to around 40–50 minutes, subject to final approvals and implementation.
What Happens Next?
NMRC will now consult the 13 interested agencies before finalising the development framework.
The proposal remains at the planning stage, and further approvals, bidding processes and agreements are expected before construction and commercial development commence.
