CRPF Examining Media Reports
A CRPF official stated that the force is currently verifying media reports concerning the alleged use of pellet guns by RAF personnel deployed during the July 20 protest.
The official said that the veracity of the reports is still being ascertained, and therefore no disciplinary or other action has been initiated at this stage.
Allegations Follow Media Report
The statement follows a report published by The Hindu, which said that two individuals were allegedly hit by pellets fired by RAF personnel during the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP)-led protest march to Parliament on July 20.
The report described the incident as the first publicly reported instance of alleged pellet gun use against civilians in the national capital, though the allegations remain under official verification.
RAF Deployment During Protest
The Rapid Action Force, a specialised unit of the CRPF trained in riot and crowd-control operations, was deployed alongside the Delhi Police in and around Jantar Mantar during the protest.
