Airtel Business has introduced IQ Gateway, a network intelligence platform aimed at helping enterprises manage business communications while strengthening protection against messaging-related fraud.
The platform brings several enterprise communication channels and security capabilities under one framework, giving businesses a centralized way to manage messaging, authentication and fraud monitoring.
One Platform for Multiple Communication Channels
IQ Gateway brings SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, voice services and number verification together through a unified control layer.
According to Airtel Business, the platform is designed to address challenges faced by companies that operate multiple communication systems. These include limited visibility into message delivery, fragmented technology environments and financial losses associated with automated OTP-related abuse.
The system also supports the management of approved message templates, allowing enterprises to maintain greater control over business communications.
Airtel positions IQ Gateway as a telco-grade platform that combines communication infrastructure with network-level intelligence and fraud protection.
Network-Level Fraud Protection
A major component of the platform is its focus on identifying and reducing fraudulent activity within enterprise communications.
IQ Gateway incorporates Airtel's fraud-management capabilities, including automated DLT integration and intelligent routing across communication channels. It also integrates IQ Verify, which uses network-based signals to assess potential fraud risks.
Another feature, Silent Authentication, is designed to enable SIM-based authentication without relying on conventional OTP SMS messages. This approach can potentially reduce dependence on SMS-based verification while adding another layer to the authentication process.
For organisations examining the financial impact of fraud and suspicious transactions, Financial Investigation can also form part of a broader risk-review process.
Target Sectors Include Banking, Government and E-commerce
Airtel Business is positioning IQ Gateway for organisations where secure and reliable customer communication is particularly important.
The company has identified sectors such as banking and financial services, government, e-commerce and logistics as potential users of the platform. These industries routinely handle large volumes of customer messages and authentication requests, making communication security an important operational concern.
Sharat Sinha, CEO of Airtel Business, said the platform builds on Airtel's experience in fraud prevention and is intended to help enterprises improve customer confidence while reducing exposure to cybercrime-related losses.
Rather than requiring companies to replace their existing systems, IQ Gateway can be integrated with existing workflows and vendor ecosystems.
On-Premise and Cloud Deployment Options
Enterprises can choose how they deploy the platform based on their technology and security requirements.
IQ Gateway can be installed within an organisation's own infrastructure or accessed through Airtel's cloud as a Software-as-a-Service offering. This gives businesses flexibility when determining how the platform fits into their existing IT environment.
The combination of communication management, authentication capabilities, network intelligence and fraud controls makes IQ Gateway relevant to both day-to-day enterprise messaging operations and broader digital-security strategies.
Airtel to Showcase IQ Gateway at India Mobile Congress
Airtel Business is scheduled to demonstrate IQ Gateway at India Mobile Congress 2026, which is set to take place from October 7 to 10.
The launch comes as businesses increasingly rely on digital messaging and authentication for customer interactions, while simultaneously facing growing risks from automated abuse, cybercrime and communication fraud.
The effectiveness of such platforms will ultimately depend on how well enterprises integrate network-level protection with their existing security, compliance and technology processes.
