Iran Allows India-Bound LPG Tankers to Pass Through Strait of Hormuz

Two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers bound for India have been allowed to safely cross the Strait of Hormuz, according to reports, signalling continued maritime cooperation between India and Iran despite ongoing regional tensions.

The development comes amid heightened security concerns in the Gulf region due to the escalating conflict affecting global shipping routes.

Iran Signals Safe Passage for Indian Ships

Mohammad Fathali, Iran’s Ambassador to India, indicated that Indian vessels could receive safe transit through the strategically important waterway.

When asked whether Indian ships would be able to pass safely through the Strait of Hormuz, the ambassador suggested that positive developments were expected within hours, reflecting the friendly ties between the two countries.

Fathali described India as a “friend” and emphasised the shared interests between India and Iran during the ongoing Middle East crisis.
