UAE Weather Update: Heavy Morning Rain Soaks Fujairah, Showers Likely to Continue

Parts of the UAE witnessed unsettled weather on Saturday morning as heavy rain swept across eastern and northern regions, with Fujairah among the most affected areas. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the conditions are being driven by a weak low-pressure system extending from the east, interacting with a high-pressure system from the west, along with a weak upper-air disturbance.

Several parts of Fujairah experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, with Al Aqah reporting particularly intense showers in the early hours. Videos shared on social media showed water flowing across roads and low-lying areas, prompting residents to exercise caution while commuting.

The NCM said weather conditions across the country will remain fair to partly cloudy, though low clouds are expected to continue forming over eastern and northern regions. There remains a chance of rainfall in these areas throughout the day, especially along the east coast.

As the day progresses into night and early Sunday morning, humidity levels are forecast to rise across coastal and inland parts of the UAE. This increase in moisture could lead to the formation of mist or fog, potentially reducing visibility between 3.30am and 10am, the weather office warned.

Winds are expected to remain light to moderate, occasionally fresh, while sea conditions are forecast to stay slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
