Dubai:
The UAE’s Fuel Price Committee on Wednesday announced revised petrol and diesel prices for January 2026, offering motorists some relief at the start of the new year as global oil rates eased.
Under the new pricing, Super 98 petrol will cost Dh2.53 per litre, down from Dh2.70 in December. Special 95 will be priced at Dh2.42 per litre, compared to Dh2.58 last month, while E-Plus petrol will be available for Dh2.34 per litre, down from Dh2.51.
Diesel prices have also seen a notable reduction, with the rate set at Dh2.55 per litre in January, compared to Dh2.85 in December.
Fuel prices in the United Arab Emirates are reviewed at the end of every month by the committee to align domestic retail rates with global market movements. The latest cut reflects softer international oil prices and stabilising supply conditions.
Beyond easing household transport costs, fuel pricing remains an important consideration for logistics operators, delivery firms and entrepreneurs assessing operating expenses. Industry analysts note that predictable fuel costs also factor into long-term planning decisions, including those related to business setup in Dubai, where transportation and supply-chain efficiency play a role in overall cost structures.
For motorists, the January revision means cheaper refuelling across all categories, reinforcing the UAE’s market-linked fuel pricing mechanism that adjusts monthly rather than remaining fixed.
