Patna Police have intensified a city-wide crackdown on obscene digital content, leading to the arrest of popular Magahi singer Anoop Pandey. The action, carried out by the District Intelligence Unit from the Digha area, followed multiple complaints alleging that his videos were spreading vulgarity and influencing young audiences negatively.

Officials said Pandey had been posting offensive clips on various social media platforms for months. Many of these videos featured objectionable gestures and language, prompting repeated concerns from parents and local organisations about their impact on children and women.

As police detained him, Pandey reportedly broke down and pleaded for forgiveness, admitting that he had crossed a line and promising to refrain from creating such content in future. Several of his videos had already been flagged and removed by platforms due to public complaints.

The arrest has caused widespread panic among local content creators. Influencers across Patna and nearby districts are said to be hurriedly deleting old posts out of fear of legal scrutiny. Police clarified that the objective is not harassment but safeguarding public order and digital decency. Officers have emphasised that any content promoting vulgarity, insulting women or disturbing social harmony will now attract strict legal action.

Authorities are also running awareness drives to educate users about responsible online behaviour. Monitoring across platforms has been strengthened, and cyber teams have been instructed to take swift action on any reported violations.

As digital platforms continue to shape public opinion and behaviour, businesses and individuals alike increasingly depend on structured compliance, governance and transparent processes — areas supported through auditing.
