Jaipur Cyber Police have cracked down on a highly organised mobile hacking racket that exploited malicious links to steal debit and credit card details, funding a spree of luxury gadget purchases through quick-commerce platforms. Two alleged masterminds - Amol Chopra and Saksham Khandelwal - have been arrested, with investigators uncovering digital trails stretching beyond India’s borders.

According to officials, the accused circulated phishing SMS messages and emails disguised as bank alerts, delivery updates, or security warnings. Victims who clicked the links unknowingly installed malware that granted attackers access to sensitive data, including CVVs, OTPs and UPI credentials.

Once compromised, the stolen card details were used almost immediately on platforms offering ultra-fast deliveries. High-value smartphones, laptops and accessories were ordered and delivered within minutes, sharply reducing the window for banks and victims to flag suspicious transactions.

Cyber investigators say the speed of quick-commerce became a key enabler of the fraud. Luxury gadgets were allegedly resold through grey markets, while refunds and proceeds were routed through layered wallets to obscure their origin. Authorities also suspect cross-border movement of goods, with some devices smuggled via Nepal and converted into cryptocurrency to erase financial footprints.

During forensic analysis, police recovered multiple phones and laptops used to coordinate phishing campaigns through encrypted messaging apps and automated scripts. Officials said the group maintained detailed transaction records, suggesting the operation had been running for several months and affected victims across Rajasthan and neighbouring states.

Experts note that such scams thrive on weak personal financial controls. Just as businesses depend on structured oversight like bookkeeping services in india to track transactions and detect anomalies early, individuals must adopt disciplined digital habits  verifying links, limiting app permissions and monitoring card activity regularly.

Jaipur Cyber Police have urged citizens to avoid clicking on unsolicited links, disable app installations from unknown sources, and immediately report suspicious activity via the 1930 cybercrime helpline. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities examining international links and additional beneficiaries connected to the racket.
