India and the UAE: Shaping a Human-Centric AI Agenda Together

As the world enters a defining decade for artificial intelligence, India and the United Arab Emirates are emerging as key partners in shaping a human-centric, inclusive, and responsible AI agenda. With the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 set to take place in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, the two nations are aligning shared values with joint action to ensure technology serves people, not the other way around.

AI is rapidly transforming India’s development landscape, acting as a catalyst for inclusive growth, innovation, and global competitiveness. Backed by strong digital public infrastructure such as Aadhaar, UPI, and India Stack, India is deploying AI across healthcare, agriculture, education, and governance to improve outcomes at scale. At the core of this journey is India’s vision of “AI for All” - ensuring fairness, transparency, accountability, and access, particularly for the Global South. Policymakers are working to embed ethical safeguards into AI systems while preventing digital exclusion and protecting privacy.

The UAE, meanwhile, has positioned itself as a global technology hub, embedding AI into national development strategies and public services. Its proactive approach to governance, innovation, and investment has made it a magnet for advanced technologies and future-focused enterprises. This convergence of India’s talent-driven ecosystem and the UAE’s innovation-led environment is creating powerful synergies.

A significant dimension of this partnership is the growing technology and investment corridor between the two countries. As AI adoption accelerates, business setup in Dubai is becoming increasingly attractive for Indian AI startups, data-driven enterprises, and deep-tech firms looking to access global markets, advanced infrastructure, and a supportive regulatory ecosystem. Dubai’s role as a gateway between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe complements India’s scale and innovation capacity.

Pre-summit dialogues across Geneva, New Delhi, and the UAE have already laid the groundwork for the upcoming India-AI Impact Summit. High-level discussions have focused on inclusive AI, reskilling societies, bridging the digital divide, and building AI-ready human capital. These inputs will directly shape the summit’s agenda, ensuring outcomes are grounded in real-world experience and multi-regional perspectives.

The India–UAE AI partnership has also moved decisively from vision to execution. During the January 2026 visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to New Delhi, both countries reaffirmed cooperation in advanced technologies, including plans to explore joint supercomputing clusters and expanded data centre operations in India. These initiatives are expected to accelerate AI research, model training, and commercial deployment across sectors.

Beyond infrastructure, the collaboration extends to talent mobility, startup ecosystems, and regulatory cooperation. Initiatives such as the UAE–India Web3 & AI Business Corridor aim to foster joint working groups, pilot projects, regulatory sandboxes, and cross-border innovation frameworks.

What sets this partnership apart is a shared ethical foundation. Both nations recognise that AI must enhance human dignity, livelihoods, and sustainability. As AI reshapes economies and societies, India and the UAE are advocating a global approach that balances innovation with responsibility.
