Operations at Dubai’s airports were disrupted early Tuesday after adverse weather conditions affected flight movements across the emirate.
Dubai Airports confirmed that activity at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) has been impacted since the early hours of the morning, leading to 12 flight cancellations and the diversion of 23 inbound services.
“Operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) have been impacted since early Tuesday morning due to adverse weather conditions, resulting in the cancellation of 12 flights and the diversion of 23 inbound services,” a Dubai Airports spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that airport authorities are coordinating closely with airlines and service partners to minimise disruption and restore normal operations as quickly as possible. Passengers have been advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules.
Weather outlook raises caution for travellers
Weather conditions across the UAE remain a key consideration for travellers in the coming days. The National Centre of Meteorology has forecast generally fair to partly cloudy skies through Saturday, accompanied by humid nights and an increased likelihood of fog or mist forming in coastal and inland areas.
Tuesday’s bulletin highlighted the potential for low cloud formation in eastern regions, with humidity levels rising overnight into Wednesday morning. Fog or mist may develop during early hours, particularly in coastal and internal locations, while winds are expected to remain light to moderate, occasionally freshening.
Temperatures are forecast to reach 30–32°C in coastal and internal areas, while mountainous regions may see cooler conditions between 17–22°C. Winds could strengthen at times to 30–35 km/h, with sea conditions remaining slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Continued monitoring through the week
From Wednesday to Saturday, forecasters expect similar weather patterns, with fair to partly cloudy conditions and a gradual rise in temperatures from midweek. Elevated humidity during night and early morning hours is likely to persist, keeping the risk of fog or mist in play, especially along coastal areas and islands.
Airlines and airport authorities said they will continue to monitor conditions closely, urging travellers to stay informed about flight schedules - particularly during early morning and late-night periods when visibility may be affected.
