The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has uncovered a major racket involved in selling counterfeit spare parts and accessories for Apple iPhones in the national capital. During a series of raids in Rohini Sector-3, authorities arrested five shop owners suspected of distributing fake iPhone components to customers while presenting them as genuine Apple products.

Police officials stated that counterfeit goods worth approximately ₹1.6 crore were seized during the operation.

Shops and Individuals Under Investigation

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Dinesh, owner of Dinesh Spare Parts

  • Shivam Singhal, owner of Singhal’s Mobile Accessories

  • Shivam, owner of Pardhan Ji Communication

  • Puneet, owner of Satguru Accessories

  • Ramkaran Sharma, operator of Kansal Accessories NXT

According to investigators, the accused were running shops that sold mobile spare parts and accessories and allegedly marketed counterfeit items as original Apple components.

Authorities believe that unsuspecting customers may have purchased these products believing them to be genuine replacements.

Counterfeit iPhone Components Seized

The police action followed specific intelligence received on March 6, indicating that several shops in the Rohini area were selling fake iPhone components.

During the raids, an authorized representative from Apple accompanied the police team to verify the authenticity of the products being sold.

When questioned, the shop owners reportedly failed to produce valid purchase invoices or authorization from Apple that would allow them to sell original parts.

Officials recovered a large quantity of counterfeit products, including:

  • around 1,000 back panels of various iPhone models

  • 180 phone bodies

  • 228 batteries

  • 48 camera and charging flex components

  • 738 back covers

  • 14 adapters

  • 109 USB cables

Authorities estimate the total value of the seized counterfeit goods to be approximately ₹1.6 crore.

Investigation Expands to Identify Supply Network

Police have registered a case under relevant legal provisions and launched further investigations into the counterfeit supply chain.

Officials believe the accused were sourcing fake iPhone parts from suppliers in the open market and selling them to customers as genuine components.

Investigators are now attempting to trace the manufacturing and distribution network responsible for supplying the counterfeit products.

Growing Concern Over Counterfeit Electronics

Counterfeit electronic components pose significant risks for consumers. Fake smartphone parts can lead to device malfunction, safety hazards, and loss of warranty coverage.

Authorities say enforcement actions against counterfeit goods are essential to protect consumers and maintain market integrity.

Businesses dealing with technology products and financial transactions often rely on structured compliance systems and professional bookkeeping services in India to maintain transparent inventory records and financial accountability.

Further Action Expected

Delhi Police stated that investigations are ongoing and additional arrests may be made if more individuals are found to be involved in the counterfeit parts network.

Authorities have also urged consumers to purchase smartphone accessories only from authorized retailers and service centers to avoid counterfeit products.

The crackdown highlights continued efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb the circulation of fake electronics and protect consumers from fraudulent business practices.
