Jaipur | December 12, 2025:
The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested Dr. Shravan Meena, Principal of Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Medical College, Sirohi, after catching him red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000. The arrest was carried out by an ACB team from Jaipur at the accused’s residence in the city.
According to officials, the operation was launched following a complaint lodged by a contractor associated with hostel construction work at the medical college. The complainant alleged that the principal had demanded an illegal payment in exchange for clearing pending contract bills.
After verifying the complaint and establishing its authenticity, the ACB laid a trap. The accused was apprehended in the Raja Park area while accepting the bribe amount, confirming the allegations, officials said.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of ACB Director General Govind Gupta. Following the arrest, the bureau carried out a search at Dr. Meena’s Jaipur residence and seized documents and records suspected to be connected to the bribery case. These materials are being scrutinised as part of the ongoing investigation.
ACB sources stated that the bribe demand was linked to the clearance of payments related to hostel construction work at the Sirohi medical college. Investigators believe the accused had been using his official position to pressure contractors for illegal gratification.
Officials said strict secrecy was maintained during the verification and trap stages to ensure the accused could be caught in the act. Further investigation is underway to determine whether similar demands were made from other contractors or if additional officials were involved.
The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau said the arrest is part of its broader statewide drive against corruption in government departments. Authorities reiterated that action against bribery would continue under the bureau’s zero-tolerance policy.
