Here’s the clever part. Every fuel delivery is tracked using a dip rod — a physical tool that measures the fuel level.

The smugglers? They use a forged dip rod — calibrated to give fake readings that show the tanker still holds the original volume from HPCL, even after part of it’s been siphoned off.

So, when the tanker reaches IGI Airport, no one suspects a thing.
